We started in Rockland, Maine as a group of chefs who made ice cream for other chefs to serve in restaurants, hotels, and resorts. The focus: Great flavor and luscious texture. Some chefs asked for sublime sidekicks to elevate desserts on their menus, and some wanted ice creams they’d be proud to serve as standalone sweets.
Soon after Coastal started, friends asked if they could buy ice cream, and we opened our factory to the public on Saturdays. The lines grew, and so did our fan base. (Thank you!)
Now, you can find Coastal Craft Ice Cream in grocery stores and specialty food stores in the US, Canada, and Mexico. We also support chefs, scoop shops, and other food service venues, too.
We’re passionate about making ice cream for food enthusiasts. We pasteurize our own dairy. We buy regionally-sourced nuts, buttermilk, and berries. We want every spoonful to be great. We find ideas for new flavors in places near and far, and we strive to honor the people and cultures that inspire us. We like putting smiles on people’s faces.
Join us March 7th for the grand opening of the Coastal Craft Ice Cream factory, located on the historic Route 1 in Portland, Maine. Great friends, new factory, a grand opening party with ice cream, shakes and cobbler.
